Dispatched is a term used by Amazon sellers to describe products that have been stored and prepared for shipment. When your products are ‘dispatched’ from your warehouse, this means that they are ready to be sent out to customers. By tracking the status of your inventory at all times, you can keep track of which products are dispatched and therefore ready to ship. You might find the word ‘dispatched’ being used in different ways on other platforms such as eBay or Etsy, but it has the same meaning no matter what platform you’re using. Let’s take a look at exactly what it means when products are dispatched on Amazon.
What Does “Dispatched” Mean On Amazon?
If your products are dispatched, this means that they are ready to be sent to your customers. When products are in the dispatched state, it means that they are just waiting to be packaged and sent to the customer’s address. If you’re selling a product with FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), your supplier will send you inventory that has been presorted and prepared for shipment. This means that you don’t need to worry about sending products directly to customers. Instead, you will send your products to Amazon and they will handle the rest. If you’re selling a product without FBA, you will need to put each item into a shipping carton, put it in a box, and send it to the customer.

- Once you’re on the Inventory page, select “Track dispatched” from the drop-down menu on the left side of the page.
- Click “Save and Continue” when you’re done tracking your dispatched inventory.
- You can also track how many of each product has been dispatched by selecting “Inventory by category” from the drop-down menu on the left side of your inventory page and then selecting “Dispatched items” from within that drop-down menu. What Is The Difference Between Dispatched And Shipping?
- If an item is dispatched, it means that it is ready to be sent to the customer. It does not mean that the item has already been sent and is awaiting a delivery attempt.
- When an item is “shipped” it means that the item has been shipped from your warehouse. It does not mean that the item has been dispatched from your warehouse.
- If an item is “in transit”, it means that the item is in transit from one place to another (either from your warehouse to a customer, or vice versa).
- If an item is “pending”, it means that the item has yet to be shipped.
- If an item is “in stock”, it means that you do not have any other items in stock at this point in time and therefore this product can be sold right away (or you can keep this product as inventory). Note: Do NOT assume that if you are selling a single product with FBA, then all of your products will automatically be dispatched. This may not always be true! For example, if you sell multiple products on Amazon with FBA, then each of those products will need to be dispatched individually before they are ready to ship (and therefore before they can be sold).
- If an item is “on hold”, it means that there is a delay on whether or not the order will go through or whether or not the order will get canceled (for example, if there are issues with delivery time, etc.).

Conclusion
Keep track of all your inventory and never be caught off guard by running out of stock again! Dispatching your inventory is the next step after receiving products from your supplier. Make sure your products are dispatched as soon as they are picked up by your supplier. Now that you know what “dispatched” means on Amazon, you can keep track of exactly which products have been sent to customers. This will help you avoid running out of stock and will also help improve your sales and receive more positive reviews from customers!
