  • Reminded residents to monitor their grass height
  1. Property proposed for Wal-Mart development was sighted for overgrown grass
  • Concerns were raised about the mounds of mulch on New Hope Rd.

  1. Discussed programs and initiatives for youth offered by the Raleigh Police Department
  1. Recommendation was made to have kids involved in the programs to come and talk to the CAC membership at the June meeting.
  1. Small Area Plan update – Vivian Ekstrom – Planner, City of Raleigh
  • Plan was submitted to the City Council for adoption of May 5, but the Council requested additional information. Plan will be submitted again to the City Council on May 19th, with update information.

  • Garnered interest in having a CAC social

  • Motion to approve was made and second
  • Minutes were approved
  1. Greenway in NECAC
  • Improvement projects to the greenways in the CAC. Structural and pavement repairs.
  • No new trails will be added
  • June 4th, celebration of trails – Anderson Point Park is the location
  1. Raleigh Arts Plan
  • Direct the arts, and cultural development of the arts within the city
  • Presented a survey to gather information on the cultural arts interest of the CAC
  1. Zoning Case Z-4-15 – Vote
  • 61 Acres
  • R-1 w/s SHOD-4 to CX-3-CU
  • At the neighborhood meeting, the attendees supported the rezoning
  • Concerns were raised about adding an additional car dealership to the area
  • Vote was called:
  1. 5 in favor
  2. 8 not in favor
  3. Zoning Case – 5305 Kyle Drive – .49 acres – presentation, no vote
  • R1 to R10 – to allow larger set back
  • Plan to build two homes on the parcels once approved and the property will be subdivided into two .25 acres
  • Build a home on each of the .25 acres
  1. Rezoning – 3612 Buffaloe Rd and 3601 Durwood Lane
  • 2 properties – 12 acres total
  • R-4 to R-10/CU
  1. Build townhomes on the property
  2. Two to three stories, one car garage
  3. Condition will be limited to 5 units per acres
  4. 35% open space
  • Next step is to have a neighborhood meeting
