Wake County Commissioners have selected Jim Hartmann to serve as Wake County Manager.
Hartmann, currently the manager of Seminole County, Fla., will replace former County Manager David Cooke, who retired last fall. Deputy County Manager Joe Durham has been filling in on an interim basis as Commissioners went through the hiring process.
According to a statement released by the county, 58 applicants applied for Cooke’s position, in which he served for more than a decade. The final three applicants were interviewed last week.
Hartmann will begin working with the county in April.
